Lesson from Bali

Bali is one of my favorite island. Except for the traffic and the pork, I almost love everything. In Bali, you'll find that Bali's people really love their tradition. Hindu's tradition is very strong there. Everyday, people pray and put the 'sesajen' everywhere, at their house, office, street, temple, etc. Their beliefs has been ingrained with their life, their soul.

It happen also for its art and culture. In Bali, we can easily find art and culture center. Everyday, they held a traditional dance show. I know that not all Balinese people can dance, but sometimes I feel like they all can. It's different here, in Java. Yes, of course Java also have art and culture center. But, it's not easily found nowadays. And, there just a few people who cares about it. Hmm, I feel a little bit ashamed because I'm lacking knowledge of my own culture.

Beside that, Balinese people are very nice and friendly. They realized that the attractiveness of Bali is on its tourism side. That's why they create a good atmosphere for the tourist. And, it works for me. :)

Bali is famous for its beaches, but it also have mountains.

On my last night in Bali, I saw a young man with the traditional uniform. I ask him whether they are praying everyday, because I saw people going to the temple with that kind of uniform everyday. And I got an unexpectable answer from that young man. "No, everytime". A simple answer that makes me contemplate.

Going to Bali for me is not only a great vacation, but also a great lesson. Learning to love our culture, nature and learning to make myself better than before.
